Clayton's First School Program

Clayton was so excited about his school program today, that he had many comments and requests to share. Such as, "Will you make me a special sparkly shirt to wear?" and "Don't worry, Mom. I won't cry."

But it wasn't until the story started, that I realized he was to play Joseph in the story of Christmas. He was such a sweet performer; held "Mary's" hand and walked from one side of the staging area to another. Then sat down next to the laundry basket (aka...the baby manger) and smiled. It was perfect!

The kids then stood and sang Christmas songs..."Santa Claus is Coming to Town", "Jingle Bells", "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"! Too bad my videography skills weren't as good as they should have been and I missed the majority of the songs. I did manage to get the Christmas Story Play!! (I should get points for that! LOL)

Such wonderful memories for Moms, Dads, and the students themselves! Thanks for all the hardwork teachers!

A Girl and Her Shoes

I don't think that I have "taught" Maecie to love shoes; it's just something that has come natural to her. If she sees a pair of shoes, she has to try them on. If she likes them, have fun getting them off again!

No, she can't count to 10. She doesn't know what a cow says. But she can say "shoes" and "chocolate". Sounds like she's got it right to me!

Short Stories from Little Beares

1. On the way to meeting a friend for lunch, Clayton decides to put his finger in a hole on his booster seat. He fusses that his finger is stuck and it results in me having to pull over on the side of the road to remove it. So I do and end up scraping his finger as it comes out of a hole too small for his finger to fit! Of course, then we need medicine and a bandage. So I stop at Walgreens and purchase Neosporin and bandages....which cost $11!!! How outrageous!!! But all was better with Clayton and he "just hopes it heals"!

2. Maecie has entered a new phase. She has realized she can take off and put on (well, almost put on) her own clothes. So while I'm washing dishes in the kitchen, and hear her little feet patter down the hallway. A few minutes later, I hear "Mom.....Mama!!" And when I enter her room, she is half naked with a shirt stuck around her mid-section. She wants to pick out her own clothes and if you don't let her, it's a complete meltdown! She is only 20 months old!

3. Clayton will be performing his first Christmas performance next week at school. When I asked him to perform for me, he said I would have to wait. However, when I told him I would video tape him, the ham came out! He stood in front of the Christmas tree and sang a couple of songs. I will have to upload some footage later!

4. Maecie is all about sitting in your "yap" (lap) and reading books. She even likes to sit in Clayton's lap. So this afternoon, she brought a book and sat in her brother's "yap" so he could read it to her. He flipped through the pages, told the story in his own way, and she loved it. It was the cutest thing to watch. Luckily I had my video camera out for that too!

I enjoy spending time with my kids so much! I would never want to miss out on these short stories!
